Course description
In this course, students will learn about survey methods which help to understand the characteristics and transformations of regions, closely related to architecture and urban planning. Specifically, students are expected to acquire practical techniques during class and outside of class hours, such as formulating survey questions, creating survey plans, methods of literature survey and field survey, analyzing survey results, and organizing survey findings. Through assigned tasks, students will conduct surveys and analyses about specific regions and themes. They will then compile the results into reports, conduct presentations, and thus solidify their acquired skills.

Evaluation method and criteria
If you correctly understand the lecture content and meet the deadline for the small assignments, and if satisfactory results are obtained, you can score up to 60% (full marks).
If you correctly understand the lecture content and deliver an appropriate presentation, you can score up to 9% (full marks).
If you correctly understand the lecture content and provide sufficient analysis based on data in the final report, you can score up to 31% (full marks).
You need to score above 60% combined to pass.
If you are absent for more than one-third of the class sessions, your presentation and final report will not be evaluated.

Prerequisites
1. Classes are conducted face-to-face.
2. Attendance is mandatory for the first class session to receive detailed explanations regarding the course.
3. Bringing your laptop to every session is required.
4. There will be tasks and fieldwork outside of class hours, and the results will be submitted multiple times as small assignments (60% of the grade).
5. The basic Excel ability is required.
