Studies on Globalizing World

YANG KUNHAO
Course description
In recent years, global circumstances have been in significant flux, undergoing remarkable changes. In this course, we will set specific themes for each session and discuss international comparative research papers in the field of computational social science. While explaining their content, students will be encouraged to consider various aspects of globalization. Through this process, the aim is to understand the impact of globalization from a global perspective, examine Japan's place in the world and the world's influence within Japan, and develop insights into the future of Japanese society. Additionally, in the final four classes, we will provide hands-on projects that offer opportunities to experience how generative AI, which has been gaining attention recently, can be useful in everyday learning.
*Note: To accurately convey the content of the research papers, some course materials (such as slides) will be in English, but the language of instruction will be Japanese.
Purpose of class
1. Understand the impact of globalization through international comparative research.
2. Develop the ability to examine Japan's place in the world and the world's influence within Japan through empirical data.
