Course content
Design methods in urban design, landscaping and urban planning are discussed. Three study tours to the sites where the instructor participated in planning or design, or to recent project sites will be done, and students are asked to submit reports for each tour and summary. This course is provided in the third quarter, and each class will be 200 minutes. Participation of the students in architecture, civil engineering and urban environmental studies are expected.
Purpose of class
Students will learn and acquire skills of reviewing the current urban development and environment, through study tours and discussion.

  1. Students will learn and can explaing the practical methods and conditions of urban environment and design projects.
  2. Students understand and can explain the trend of current urban design and develop the ability to plan desirable urban places.
  3. Students understand and explain the meaning and effects of comprehensive design approach over civil engineering, architecture and urban planning,
