In this class, students will attempt to give presentations that can be understood by people from other fields about their
own research fields of interest, the content of their ongoing research, and how their research contributes to society. After
the presentations, a Q&A session and discussion will be held among students in the class. In addition, we will have a special
lecture on cutting-edge technologies by an engineer who is an authority in the field, followed by a Q&A session and discussion
to learn the latest technologies and "presentation techniques. In principle, classes will be held online via Zoom.
However, there will be an off-campus face to face class on the afternoon of October 29 as Week 6 class, which is a preparation day for the SIT Student Festival, so there will be no regular classes on that day. Students will board the training ship Shioji-maru (about 60 m length) of Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology (TUMSAT), where they will learn about the structure of ships and observe maritime traffic and port (bay) business activities from the sea side, while interacting with other students face-to-face.
