Course content
This course teaches the necessary knowledge about school education for graduate students who are aiming to obtain a specialized license for teaching personnel, and based on that knowledge, cultivates the ability to think, judge, and solve current educational problems. When considering educational problems, it is necessary to view them not only as problems within the classroom, but also from the perspective of their relationship to the home environment and social issues. For that reason, this course will consider school education problems from a sociological perspective.
The lecture style is that a person in charge is assigned each time, and the basic flow is reading literature → writing a resume → presentation → discussion.
Graduate school lectures are different from undergraduate ones in that students are expected to have their own analysis and opinions, rather than a passive attitude. To do this, students are required to read specialized books related to the topic, deepen their understanding of knowledge and theory, and make an effort to actively discuss.
Purpose of class
The purpose of this course is to teach students the pedagogical knowledge they will need as future education professionals and to train them in independent thinking, thereby equipping them with the ability to seek solutions from a broad perspective to any educational problem that may arise in the modern school education field.
Goals and objectives
  1. You will be able to grasp the various aspects of modern school education issues and understand the background to educational issues and the essence of the problems.
  2. Students will be able to learn educational knowledge related to educational issues and think about solutions to these issues.
  3. By carrying out a series of tasks - compiling, presenting and discussing pedagogical literature - students will be able to develop an independent attitude towards learning about educational issues and the ability to think and make decisions to solve them.
