1 Embodied intelligence system research /Exercise1
In today’s society, various intellectual tasks at which humans once excelled, such as text generation and illustration, are
increasingly being taken over by artificial intelligence (AI). However, the joy of physically engaging the body, through activities
like playing musical instruments or participating in sports, is gaining renewed importance. However, the mechanisms of how
humans control their bodies to perform skilled movements remain only partially understood.
In this research, we aim to investigate the mechanisms of human motor control and support skill acquisition using mechatronics,
data science, and design engineering approaches.
- Students understand the basics of motion measurement and motion data analysis.
- Students acquire the ability to discover problems to be solved through literature and social research, and to solve problems
through experimentation.
- Students acquire the presentation skills to communicate their ideas to others
Japanese(English accepted)
- Through seminar discussions and reviews of existing literature, gain the latest insights into human motor control mechanisms
and methods for supporting skill acquisition.
- In parallel, identify research questions to address based on these prior studies and societal needs, and develop a research
plan.
- Acquire data analysis and system development techniques necessary to effectively apply appropriate approaches to these questions.
Evaluation method and criteria
- Seminar and meetings: 30 %
- Final achievement: 50%
- Conference presentation and submission to journals: 20%
