1 Granular dynamics / Exercise 1
Granular materials are often used in many industrial processes. However, most of the design is based on the experience. In
this lecture, the theoretical and analytical studies of granular dynamics are executed considering the development of novel
machines handling granular materials.
Current themes are follows.
1. Study of granular dampers
2. Development of electrostatic separator
3. Analysis of behavior of a charged particle in electric field
4. Development of food separator
- To use several types of dynamics calculation methods for granular dynamics
- To understand the problem of the conventional method and the new technology
- To investigate granular dynamics both experimentally and theoretically
There are many different types of handling equipment for granular materials such as sand, salt and so forth.
This class investigates the dynamics of granular materials and develops novel granular handling equipment.
