1 Community Information System Research /Exercise 1
This course focuses on research of information system and information management applying to a variety of communities. Methodologies
for the research, experimental findings, and case studies will be discussed in the class. Students are required to conduct
a study on a topic related to information system, information management, and information for community. Their active participation
in class discussions is encouraged.
- Students will be able to obtain knowledge and understanding of information management for community.
- Students will be able to obtain knowledge and understanding of designing research on a specific topic.
- Students will be able to develop their ability to conduct a research from an engineering point of view.
Each enrolled student will meet once each week with the instructor and discuss regarding his/her research topic, design, analysis,
and new readings on their research topic by giving presentation of their progress. They will receive mini lessons of academic
paper writing and academic presentation.

Participation: 20%
Term Paper / Assignments: 40%
Presentation: 40%
