1 Functional Material Engineering/Exercise 1
Based on the histology of metallic materials, we will examine how it can be reflected in material processing and other applications,
and in light of these considerations, what kinds of applications will be possible.
- To explain the concepts of solidification and crystallization of metallic materials.
- To be able to explain heat treatment of metallic materials and the relationship between the state diagram and microstructure.
- To explain the microstructure and mechanical, physical, and chemical properties of alloys.
We review foreign papers and discuss future research directions in the light of current materials microstructures.
Evaluation method and criteria
Evaluation criteria will be based on the ability to summarize foreign papers from the viewpoint of materials histology, their
advantages and disadvantages, and their outlook on each material.
