Course description
Forms in design must be expressed aesthetically based on specifications and functions, and the source of ideas is cultivated through observation of products. It is also necessary to communicate the ideas to others accurately by using desirable expressions according to the purpose.
Therefore, this course aims to acquire an understanding of observation and form, as well as a variety of expressive and explanatory techniques through the creation of step-by-step assignments.
Purpose of class
The objective is to understand the relationship between form, specification, function and aesthetic expression through observation and to acquire basic techniques for expressing and explaining form through the following exercises.
A) Measurement and drawing
B) Observation of forms and sketches of many kinds

  1. Be able to observe the form of objects and understand the purpose of design and aesthetic expression.
  2. Be able to drafting of measured drawings using analogue and digital methods.
  3. Be able to express forms through multiple sketches.
  4. Be able to accurately communicate forms to others through the use of appropriate means of expression.
