Course description
Lighting, electric heating, discharge, and electrochemistry are treated in this course as the electric power applications. Regarding lighting, we learn about basic topics such as vision, light sources, and lighting calculations. Regarding electric heating, we learn about basic topics such as heat calculations and methods of electric heating. Regarding discharge, we learn about the basic physics of discharge and ion sources. Regarding electrochemistry, we learn about batteries. We incorporate assignments and exercises to deepen the understanding.
Purpose of class
Understand the physics of lighting and acquire the knowledge of human eye structure and various lighting equipments.
Understand the basics of heat analysis and acquire the knowledge of various electric heating methods.
Understand the basic physics of discharge and acquire the knowledge of various plasma devices and batteries.
Goals and objectives
  1. Able to perform lighting calculations and able to explain the human eye structure and lighting equipments.
  2. Able to perform heat calculations and able to explain the characteristics of various electric heating devices.
  3. Able to perform basic discharge calculation and able to explain the characteristics of various plasma sources.
