Course description
This course is offered to learn higher-level circuit technology based on the basic knowledge of hardware learned in Information Communication Hardware Experiments A and B. Similar to information and communication hardware experiments A and B, this will be conducted in two classes.
The target field is [logic circuits/digital circuits]. Learn about logic circuits and digital circuit technology while actually designing, fabricating, experimenting, and considering circuits.
Purpose of class
Analog circuit technology remains important as a circuit technology, but digital circuit technology, including computer hardware, is also essential. In this experiment, the main purpose of this experiment is to solidify what you learned in the first-year second semester subject [Logic Design] into usable knowledge by actually designing, fabricating, and evaluating digital circuits.
Specifically, the purpose is to learn the following.

・Basic gate operation
・How to use functional devices
・Digital circuit design method
・Characteristics of two circuit systems used in digital circuits, "combinational circuits" and "sequential circuits"

Continuing from information and communication hardware experiments A and B, you will also learn how to summarize experiment results as a report.
Goals and objectives
  1. Students can set experimental conditions according to the content of the experiment so that valid data can be obtained.
  2. Students can understand circuit diagrams given in text, create prototypes, and evaluate them.
  3. Students can understand the characteristics of combinational circuits and sequential circuits, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of digital circuit technology.
  4. Students can preprocess data and make graph, appropriately.
  5. Students can work together as a group to carry out a series of tasks that are essential in engineering, such as creating circuits, experimenting, and summarizing results.
Relationship between 'Goals and Objectives' and 'Course Outcomes'

Each report Final report Total.
1. 10% 10%
2. 15% 5% 20%
3. 15% 25% 40%
4. 10% 10% 20%
5. 10% 10%
Total. 60% 40% -
Evaluation method and criteria
More than 2 times of absence regards as course abandonment.
And, late arraivals to class without just cause is treated as penalty point.

Evaluation depends on 3 reports (60%) and final report (40%).

Students will pass the exam (approximately 60 points) by satisfying the followings.

・Design of the specified circuit
・Creating a circuit designed by yourself
・Operation can be confirmed by experiment

Furthermore, it will be possible to create circuits that take into account purposes such as ease of experimentatf
