Transient phenomena is a rapidly changing action occurring in a circuit during the interval between initial-state and steady-state
conditions. The aim of this course is to help students to understand the transient phenomena of a voltage and a current in
a circuit and to be able to solve the problem. The methods to solve the problem are based on 1) differential equations and
2) the Laplace transform.
The purpose of this course is to help students to
(1) Understand how to express the transient phenomena in a circuit, propagation of electro-magnetic- and light-waves.
(2) Be able to calculate transient response of electrical signals by using first and second order differential equations.
(3) Be able to solve the equations analytically.

- Being able to express the transient phenomena with first and second order differential equations and to solve the equations.
- Being able to explain principles and applications of electrical circuits for differentiating and integrating signals with respect to time.
- Being able to explain the Laplace transform and to obtain the solutions of response signals in the case of inputting various signals which include unit impulse and rectangular pulse.
