Course description
This course is designed to integrate the basic knowledge of hardware learned in Information Communication Hardware Experiments A and B and the knowledge about digital circuits learned in Information Communication Hardware Experiment C, and to learn higher-level circuit technology.
Similar to information and communication hardware experiments A and B, this will be conducted in two classes.
The target field is [optical communications].
Students will learn about the circuit elements and technologies necessary for communication equipment by creating transmitters and receivers that realize optical communication.
Purpose of class
Communication technology for transmitting information is realized by appropriately using hardware and software technology.
In this experiment, we will integrate what we have learned from previous hardware experiments, and as a culmination of that, we will design, create, and evaluate (operation check) a simple communication device.
Through experiments, we aim to learn the following.

・Basics of electronic circuit technology such as oscillation circuits, filters, and transient phenomena, which are elemental circuit technologies in communication equipment.
・The transmitter and receiver are configured to realize communication by appropriately utilizing elemental circuits and combining them.
・Modulation and demodulation technology essential for realizing communication

At the same time, we will continue to learn about information and communication hardware A, B, and C about the content of experiments and how to summarize the experimental results as a report.

Also, the experiment is a group work. Continuing from Information and Communication Hardware A, B, and C, students will also learn how to take the initiative in conducting experiments and cooperate within a group.
Goals and objectives
  1. Students can set experimental conditions according to the content of the experiment so that valid data can be obtained.
  2. Students can understand the characteristics of passive and active elements and be able to use them appropriately.
  3. Students can understand the importance of electric and electronic circuit technology in communication technology, and the mechanisms of modulation and demodulation, and be able to realize them as circuits.
  4. Students can preprocess data and make graph, appropriately.
  5. Students can work together as a group to carry out a series of tasks that are essential in engineering, such as creating circuits, experimenting, and summarizing results.
Relationship between 'Goals and Objectives' and 'Course Outcomes'

Evaluation method and criteria
More than 2 times of absence regards as course abandonment.
And, late arraivals to class without just cause is treated as penalty point.

Evaluation depends on 3 reports (60%) and final report (40%).

Students will pass the exam (approximately 60 points) by satisfying the followings.

・Design of the specified circuit
・Creating a circuit designed by yourself
・Operation can be confirmed by experiment

Furthermore, it will be possible to create circuits that take into account purposes such as ease of experimentatf
