Course description
In this class, the definitions of media, multimedia and multimedia system will be clarified and the usage of them will be investigated from the engineering viewpoint. Especially, focusing on the information and communication technologies with graphics, visual information processing and human sense in engineering will be explained. In addition, how to quantify the psychological values of auditory information and visual information will also be mentioned. Finally, 3D display technologies will be introduced.
Purpose of class
The purpose of this class can be divided into two. One is to comprehend the technologies which connect the physical quantities obtained by auditory and visual senses with the psychological values acquiring the concepts of media, multimedia and multimedia system. The other is to comprehend 3D display technologies acquiring human's stereoscopic elements.
Goals and objectives
  1. Enrolled students can comprehend multimedia systems based on the characteristics of human's auditory sense, voice and visual sense.
  2. Enrolled students can comprehend how to quantify the human senses.
  3. Enrolled students can comprehend 3D display technologies.
