Course description
This course explores essential methodologies in the field of transportation planning. In particular, the development and application of travel behavior models for travel demand forecasting will be delved into after studying case studies of domestic and international transportation planning.
Purpose of class
To teach an understanding of methodologies for transportation planning: How it works and how to think about analyzing and designing transportation systems.
Goals and objectives
  1. Students can understand individual choice model which is estimating probability of transport mode choice.
  2. Students can uderstand user equilibrium model which is estimating assigned traffic volume.
  3. Students can understand some traffic survey data and travel forecasting model for transportation planning.
