Spatial information science is the study of finding and solving problems from a spatial perspective by collecting, processing,
integrating, managing, manipulating, and analyzing information related to space or geography. In this course, students will
learn the basic concepts and methodologies of spatial information science, the structure of spatial data, methods of spatial
analysis, and applications of spatial information science to society as the knowledge required to study geographic information
systems
The objective is to learn about the basic concepts of GIS necessary for using geographic information systems (GIS) and to
acquire the basic methodology needed to be able to propose solutions to problems with GIS. The course aims to enable students
to design and construct similar services using examples of services using geographic information systems that are used in
the real world.
