Course description
Under the guidance of the supervisor, students will create a research plan, carry out their research, organize and analyze results, and complete their work as a graduation thesis.
Purpose of class
Students will acquire the knowledge and experience necessary for engineers, including the formulation of research plans, execution of research, summarization of results, and presentation within a specified period.
Goals and objectives
  1. Students will be able to set their own goals and formulate appropriate research plans, based on a solid foundation and specialized knowledge of materials science and chemistry.
  2. Students will be able to carry out their research and to organize and analyze the obtained results, using the specialized knowledge acquired through previous coursework.
  3. Students will be able to write and present a graduation thesis based on the obtained research results.

Evaluation method and criteria
The research plan and implementation will be evaluated through daily progress in face-to-face meetings. The thesis and oral presentation will be assessed based on the results using a rubric.

Research guidance of each laboratory of the course
Research Content
Research on substances, environment, materials engineerings, and related topics will be conducted in each laboratory. The research topics of each laboratory will be introduced during the laboratory assignment briefing session (held in-person or online) around March to April.
