Course description
The basic knowledge of urban design is lectured. The students learn basic skill to design urban public spaces such as street, square and district.This course is related to urban design studio and landscape design.
Purpose of class
The purpose of the class is to learn the basic knowledge of urban environmental design, and aquire basic skills to research, plan, design and manage in the field.
Goals and objectives
  1. Students understand and can explain the basic concept and objective.
  2. Students understand the role of urban design as a comprehensive field, and acquire the basic knowledge of methods and techniques.
  3. Students find and understand the methods and problems in urban environmental design projects.
  4. Students understand and can explain the current stream of urban environmental design in the world and think of the future trend.
