In this lecture, students will learn the theoretical foundations of educational sociology, and will examine specific issues,
including various case studies, regarding social, institutional, and managerial matters related to education. The ultimate
goal of this lecture is to explore the possibilities of social, institutional, and managerial aspects of school education
in modern society.
This lecture will examine education from a sociological perspective and deepen your understanding of the various educational
issues in modern society and their backgrounds. We also aim to enable students to acquire the basic knowledge and perspectives
needed to solve social, institutional, and management issues related to education.
- Students are able to understand and explain the school's historical transformation process.
- Students can understand and explain the Japanese educational system by comparing the Japanese and foreign schooling systems.
- Students are able to understand the unique culture that is formed in the school setting and reflect on their own educational experiences.
- Students will be able to understand how to view and think about educational issues, and will be able to formulate their own opinions on current educational issues.
- By collaborating with others, students are able to relativize their own ideas about education and consider educational issues from a broader perspective.
