Course description
In this class, students will learn about corporate management strategies related to environmental and social business that contribute to the realization of a sustainable society, based on case studies. Students will learn about the international framework of investment and finance in environmental and social business, as well as case studies of sustainability management in Japan and abroad, in English.

Purpose of class
ESG investment in companies engaged in environmental and social business that contribute to the realization of a sustainable society is accelerating. The purpose of this class is to systematically learn what sustainability management in environmental and social business is, how it can be achieved, and what examples exist, and to acquire the knowledge necessary for practicing sustainability management.
Goals and objectives
  1. Students will be able to understand and explain the international framework of investment and finance in environmental and social business.
  2. Students will be able to understand and explain the objectives of sustainability management.
  3. Students will be able to give examples of environmental and social business and explain success factors and challenges.
