1 Life Science, Advance 2
Based on the basics learnt in Life Science, Advance 1, artificial procedures for the expression and control of genetic information
which are the basis of bioprocess engineering and the applications of the basic technology, including cell technology, enzymology,
and biomaterials, to signal transduction and further cancer, immunity, manipulation of chromosomes and cells, etc. are learnt,
and a better understanding is brought about as to a great contribution of these applications to various human activities such
as utilization in new bioindustry, agriculture and medicine and the conservation of global environment. Graduate students
search News in journal of Nature, Science, Biotechnology, make an oral report and discuss their reports together.
Based on the basic knowledge in Life Science, Advance 1, the objective is to understand the point that artificial procedures
for the expression and control of genetic information are the basis of bioprocess engineering and the applications of the
basic technology.
