Course description
In recent years, local governments (municipalities) have faced issues such as a declining population, declining birthrate and aging population, a decline in agriculture, forestry and fisheries, and financial difficulties, and have become immune to the globalization of the economy seen in the Lehman Shock. Under such circumstances, there are increasing areas where distinctive environmental education and citizen activities that take advantage of local resources and characteristics are being conducted. In order to deepen the basic understanding of the trends in environmental education and citizen activities, this section will focus on what policies and activities are being implemented by local governments, NGOs and NPOs (non-profit organizations) to protect the environment. In addition, we explain in detail how local government officials, NGOs / NPOs, citizens, businesses, consultants, etc. are involved and the policies and activities have been realized, using actual examples in detail.
Two or three lessons will take up one theme, the first one will be outlined and the second and subsequent lessons will be examples. At the end of the class, quizzes and assignments related to the content of the day will be presented and submitted within that time. Also, discussions and personal work will be incorporated during the class.
This subject is a subject that requires credits for elementary level certification for environmental regenerative medicine.
