Course description
Most machines nowadays are computer-controlled, and the performance of the machines themselves has been improved. With the development of computer-based electronics, it has become possible for machines to operate in a more detailed manner. This kind of technology is called mechatronics. In the future, as represented by robots, the performance of machines will be further improved according to their applications. In this class, we will learn what mechatronics is and its basic elements and systems in detail.
Purpose of class
In this class, students will learn how computers, sensors, electrical and electronic circuits, and actuators work, and how to systemize mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, electronic engineering, and control engineering as follows to obtain methods to realize the desired machine.
Goals and objectives
  1. Understand the operation of the basic of the analog and digital circuits, and analyze and calculate circuit examples.
  2. Understand the mechanism and fundamental characteristics of sensors and actuators, and calculate operational analysis for concrete application examples.
  3. Understand the system configuration of mechatronics and design the basic interface between mechanics, electronics and software.
