Course description
Design engineering consists of many specialized fields. As students progress through their academic years, they will narrow down their areas of expertise and eventually move on to Project Research and the Comprehensive Project.
This course, Investigation of Design and Engineering Fields, serves as a step toward deeper learning by allowing students to explore four specialized fields over one semester.

Note: Classes will be held on the Toyosu Campus.
Purpose of class
The main goal of this course is to help students acquire an understanding of various specialized fields in design engineering and their interrelationships.
Goals and objectives
  1. Understand four specialized fields. Be able to explain the problems each field aims to solve and the value it provides.
  2. Understand the relationships and positions among different specialized fields, and explain the related technologies or fields necessary to achieve a certain goal.
  3. Through examples of social applications of each specialty, develop an understanding of potential career paths and be able to choose your own specialization.
