Engineering Design Exercise

HAYABUSA Keisuke
Course description
In Drafting Exercise 2, students learned mainly about tracing mechanical drawings and standard drafting methods based on JIS. The aim of this subject, Engineering Design Exercise, is to perform so-called design drawings, and to equip designers with the ability to reflect the specifications requested by the customer in their designs.
Purpose of class
In this class, students will acquire more advanced mechanical design skills, such as the mechanical elements that make up a hand-winding winch, design calculation methods, and how to create specifications. Students will also become proficient in using 2D-CAD and 3D-CAD, and will also carry out strength evaluations using ANSYS structural analysis and V&V (design verification and validation).
Goals and objectives
  1. Students will learn about the mechanical elements that make up a hand-operated winch (gears, shafts, bearings, keys, brakes, and wire ropes), and will be able to select and design mechanical elements to meet given specifications. They will also be able to create specifications.
  2. You will learn how to use AutoCAD (2D-CAD) and Fusion (3D-CAD) and be able to create parts and assembly drawings for the target machine.
  3. Structural analysis can be performed using ANSYS based on the created 3D-CAD data, and the validity of the design can be evaluated by comparing it with the results of Achievement Objective 1.
