Course description

This course aims to help students develop skills to write research papers in English successfully. Students will learn skills to compose and to give presentations in an academic setting through practice. Students will be required to write a short research paper and to give a presentation based on the paper.

Purpose of class

To help students obtain the knowledge and skills necessary to write a logical and clear research paper and to help them learn the basic presentation components and techniques.

To be able to understand how to write a research paper and its logical structure
To be able to understand the key points of English presentation
To be able to write a short research paper and give a presentation based on the knowledge and skills required in the class

Class participation 20%, Assignments / Quizzes 20%, Mid-term Exam 30%, Final presentation 30%

A score of 60% is needed to pass this course.
Students can expect to obtain more than 60 points if their performance on tests, presentations, and assignments shows that they have mostly comprehended the learning contents of the course.
