Course description
This course is an introductory lecture on information theory, where students will learn about how computers handle numbers and character representations, the principles of information processing, and the basics of cryptography. The course will utilize on-demand (flipped classroom) lectures and allocate plenty of time for Information Processing Exercise II.
Purpose of class
The aim of the course is to understand how computers represent and process information, as well as the applications of this knowledge, such as security and cryptography.

  2. Students will be able to understand the applications of this knowledge such as efficient coding and its quantification, and the theory of cryptography.
  3. Students will gain an understanding of the essence of programming.
