Purpose of class
(1)Understand the characteristics of structural material and members.
(2)Understand the method of structural tests: measurement and loading method
(3)Aquire the ability to analyze the experimental data, and summarize in a scientific report.
Course description
This course aims to develop an understanding of the structural behavior of materials: concrete, steel and wood commonly used in building construction and members through the lectures and the structural tests, manufacturing the specimen. The goal of the course is to deepen the understanding of the knowledge that has already been learned in the lectures on structural engineering through observations of phenomena in experiments and develop the ability to analyis the experimental results and summarize in a report.
Goals and objectives
  1. 今までに学んだ建築構造に関する講義科目とこの実験科目を関連付けて、理論と実際の現象との比較検討することにより、理論の有用性と限界、現象の複雑さを体験して、実験を行う意味を考えることができる。
  2. 実験の結果をまとめ、レポートを作成し、実験で得られた成果を報告する能力を養えることができる。
  3. 実験結果と理論の比較から工学の可能性と限界、さらにその解決法を考えることができる。
