Purpose of class
The aim of this course is to help students acquire an understanding the idea and system of building related laws, and the planning and design theory of buildings that adheres to related laws such as Building Standard Law and Enforcement Order, and City Planning Law.
Course description
An architect is strictly required to understand the idea and system of building related laws to design a building in compliance with the laws in the real world. To secure the safety of occupants, variety of regulations are applied to a building.
Goals and objectives
  1. To understand the Building Standard Law and Enforcement Order to solve the exam questions for registered architects
  2. To understand the City Planning Law to solve the exam questions for registered architects
  3. To understand the Architect Act to solve the exam questions for registered architects
  4. To understand and explain the importance of ethics for engineers

Evaluation method and criteria
The course will be weighted as follows: Final exam. 40%. Midterm exam. 40%. Quizzes. 20%. In order to pass, students must earn at least 60 of 100 points.Students have to be able to solve 80% of questions asked in each lecture until the exams to get the credit.
