Purpose of class
This class aims to help students to understand various fields of architecture and be motivated to consider what to study to design better built environment including architecture.

 建築分野の幅の広さを理解すると共に、何のために建築が存在するのか、よい建築をつくるために何を知り何を学んでゆくのかについて、ひとり一人が考え始める動機を持てるようになる.
Course description
Several professors introduce various fields of architecture, teach basic knowledge of their specialized field and show how that leads to social contributions.

専門科目への導入として、建築分野の幅広さ(歴史研究から工学実験まで、あるいは制作活動から調査活動まで、あるいは空間設計から都市計画まで)を理解すると同時に、建築学全般に関わる基礎的知識を身につけ、それぞれの専門科目がどのような社会貢献につながるのか(どのような職業へつながるのか)を理解する。
Goals and objectives
  1. To acquire active attitude to learn specialized field in architecture with being aware of themselves as college students.
  2. To understand what architecture is and acquire its basic knowledge
  3. To understand that architecture includes various specialized field and realize their aptitude for each field
  4. To understand the connection between research of each field and professional practice
