Purpose of class
In this course, students will learn research methods for investigating the urban context of the project site and design approaches for architecture that connects to the local community through lifestyle. They will also aim to acquire oral presentation skills and effective expression techniques.
Course content
A design studio-style design exercise led by multiple faculty members.
An exercise course designing spaces responsive to the surrounding environment and new lifestyles within the context of the local community.
Students examine how to perceive the area and apply that understanding to architectural planning. By investigating and analyzing the characteristics of various site-related information and clarifying the motivation and objectives of the required plan, students are expected to reflect this in their design proposals.
(Internship-related course)
Goals and objectives
  1. 1. Students can acquire the skills and knowledge necessary for designing complex architecture through practical training.
  2. 2. Learn design methodologies that deeply consider the regional context as the framework for architectural planning.
  3. 3. Can identify an appropriate design concept regardless of the building's function or scale.
  4. 4. Through drawings, models, and computer modeling, one can express their own design concepts in a compelling manner.
  5. 5. Be able to deliver effective presentations

Evaluation method and criteria
Grades will be determined based on a ratio of approximately 70% for submitted work and 30% for presentations.
The maximum score is 100 points, with a passing grade of 60 points or higher. A score of 60 points or higher indicates that, on average for each learning objective, the student can understand the content and execute it with guidance.
Feedback on exams, assignments, etc.
ways of feedback specific contents about "Other"
Feedback in/outside the class.
Textbooks and reference materials
Reference book: Explained in class
Prerequisites
Attend the orientation for new students to hear the explanation of this course and thoroughly read the materials provided.
Select several completed architectural projects, conduct site visits and gather reference materials, then prepare a report outlining the social significance and originality of each project. Prior to this, organize your own values by examining other projects.
