This course provides students with the opportunity to conduct research in an overseas laboratory in order to broaden their
knowledge and experience in their field of study. Through this experience, students gain exposure to different research environments,
develop intercultural understanding, and become familiar with the historical, social, and economic context of the host country.
Overseas experience is an essential component of developing engineers and researchers capable of contributing to an international
society. In this course, students independently design a research or technical training plan related to their research theme
to be conducted at overseas universities or public research institutes. The proposed plan is prepared in consultation with
the course instructor and submitted for evaluation.
Once the proposal is approved, students carry out the overseas research or technical training according to their plan. Shibaura Institute of Technology provides partial financial support for eligible expenses in accordance with separate institutional guidelines.
After returning to Japan, students prepare and submit a final report summarizing their activities and outcomes, and present their experience and research results to the instructor and other students.
