Purpose of class
In the electrical, electronic, and information-related fields of the “Functional Device Engineering Division”—including materials properties, circuits, control, power, communications, information, robotics, and bio-related areas—students work on cutting-edge research topics in their respective laboratories. Through doctoral-level training in “problem definition,” “research planning,” and “evaluation of methods and discussion of results,” they develop the ability to “acquire specialized knowledge” and “apply specialized knowledge.”
Course content
This course aims to cultivate the advanced knowledge and experimental skills necessary for the preparation of doctoral dissertations.
The course trains researchers and professionals with advanced expertise who can solve global problems for the realization of a sustainable society by collaborating with researchers and engineers around the world.

In the field of functional device engineering related to electrical, electronic and information engineering, cutting-edge research related to electronic device, circuits, control engineering, electrical power, information communications, robotics and biotechnology.

We will consider solutions to the problem of users not being able to fully use devices due to their multifunctionality and complexity, and not being able to achieve their original purpose and value.

In the field of functional device engineering related to material science and engineering, cutting-edge research related to material structure, crystal structure, physical and chemical properties, material synthesis, and analytical methods.
