Purpose of class
This course aims to provide students with foundational knowledge and methodologies in architectural history research and to cultivate the ability to critically analyze architecture within its historical context. Through historical inquiry, students will develop perspectives for reexamining issues in contemporary architecture and present their findings as research outcomes.
Course content
Each student will choose a research topic related to architectural or urban history to work on for their thesis. The research work should be developed weekly through discussions, literature reviews, and fieldwork.

Class schedule
Lab meetings will be held each week. Students are required to make presentations and show progress of their work. The final output should be combined in the form of a thesis or an architectural project.
