Course content
By applying state-of-the-art research in natural language processing such as natural language text analysis and generation to actual technology development and research themes, we aim to cultivate problem-discovery and problem-solving abilities. Additionally, we challenge both fundamental and theoretical research in these fields.

  1. Understand the fundamental concepts of natural language and the basic techniques of language processing, and be able to apply them to simple examples
  2. Understand the fundamental theories and basic techniques of machine learning and data analysis, and be able to apply them to simple examples
  3. Be able to apply natural language processing techniques to the analysis and generation of actual text

By applying state-of-the-art research in natural language processing such as natural language text analysis and generation to actual technology development and research themes, we aim to cultivate problem-discovery and problem-solving abilities. Additionally, we challenge both fundamental and theoretical research in these fields.
Evaluation method and criteria
Students will be evaluated based on progress reports (more than 2 seminars/week) (50%), academic society presentations (10%), and writing of master’s theses (40%).

Basic mathematical knowledge in discrete mathematics, probability theory, linear algebra and calculus
