SUGAYA Midori
Purpose of class
As an information engineering approach to contribute to societal development and human well-being, this laboratory focuses on software infrastructure.
Software infrastructure refers to software that performs general-purpose processing, benefiting many people. The existence of such software frees people from labor-intensive programming, allowing them to concentrate more on developing applications tailored to their specific purposes.
To create such software foundations, we must ask: What does it mean for software to be useful to people? We must clarify methods for capturing human essence and use the results to define form. From there, we must devise fundamental mechanisms and translate them into concrete implementations.
In software foundation research, we cultivate the ability to devise such methods and clarify how to realize them. Through these research processes, we develop the research capabilities essential for researchers.
