Purpose of class
This course begins with on-site research into facilities and users, through which students identify issues and values, design user experiences, and develop proposals by iteratively creating prototypes and conducting user testing.

The objective of the course is to cultivate the ability to materialize and execute this entire design process, as well as the ability to effectively present outcomes in the form of a professional portfolio.
Course description
This course is a practice-based studio that conceptualizes content as a medium for promoting behavioral change in users and develops diverse and practical design proposals.
The scope of proposals is not limited to digital user interfaces such as applications, but encompasses all elements that shape the user experience, including signage planning, information design, spatial layout and circulation, fixtures and furniture, and operational design.

Beginning with research on target facilities and users, students identify issues and values, design user experiences, and iteratively develop proposals by creating prototypes and conducting user testing to verify and refine their hypotheses.
Finally, students organize both the process and outcomes of their work and compile them into a portfolio suitable for submission in job-hunting activities.
Goals and objectives
  1. Be able to define problems and formulate value hypotheses based on research.
  2. Be able to organize the flow of user experiences and their necessary conditions, and clearly explain proposals in concrete terms.
  3. Be able to refine and enhance proposals through iterative prototyping, user testing, evaluation, and improvement.
  4. Be able to organize the entire process and outcomes leading to a proposal and compile them into a professional portfolio.

Evaluation method and criteria
Each assignment will be evaluated on a four-level scale of S, A, B, and F, with the following scores: S = 10 points, A = 8 points, B = 6 points, F = 0 points.
Each assignment carries a different weight, and the final grade will be calculated based on the ratio of the student’s total score to the total possible score if all S grades were achieved. A score rate of 60% or higher is required to pass. The evaluation method may be revised as needed according to class progress or assignment changes. Any revisions will be explained during class.
