Purpose of class
The aim of this course is to develop students’ ability to solve problems by independently setting socially relevant research themes and addressing them. Students will also learn how to organize and present their work, whether in the form of designs, creations, or academic papers.
Course description
Students will select themes related to various fields in design engineering and, under the supervision of faculty members specializing in each field, begin work on their initial research topics. By integrating the knowledge acquired in courses up to the second year, students will learn the fundamental methods of research—such as identifying problems, proposing and implementing solutions, and conducting evaluations.
Goals and objectives
  1. To identify issues in fields related to design engineering, gather, organize, and analyze relevant information, and formulate appropriate research themes.
  2. To utilize specialized knowledge in proposing methods for problem solving and to carry out activities necessary for implementing these methods.
