Purpose of class
The main purpose of this class is to understand mobile communication systems including basic technologies and integrated system.
Course description
As component technologies that constitute mobile communication systems, this course covers source coding techniques, error control techniques, modulation and demodulation techniques, access technologies, antennas and radio wave propagation, fading mitigation techniques, and OFDM technology. Furthermore, it aims to provide an understanding of the relationships among these component technologies. For particularly important technologies, exercises and demonstrations using actual wireless devices will be conducted to deepen understanding.
Goals and objectives
  1. The students who succeeded in this course will be able to understand and apply basic mobile communications technologies for instance coding/decoding, modulation/demodulation and so on.
  2. They also will be able to understand and apply application technologies for mobile communication systems for instance multiple access, antenna and propagation, anti-fading technologies and so on.
  3. In addtion, they will be able to understand and apply the recent and the next generation mobile communication services and wireless systems technologies.
