Teaching Method of General Science 3

OKUDA Hiroshi
Course description
Based on the National Curriculum Standards for junior and senior high schools, this course provides an overview of instructional methods for science learning centered on observations and experiments. Students will engage in practical training, including the creation of teaching materials utilizing ICT, as well as laboratory inspections and lesson observations at affiliated or attached junior and senior high schools. The course aims to further enhance practical teaching capabilities, including ensuring safety during observations and experiments, and the proper management of chemicals, teaching materials, equipment, and laboratories.
Purpose of class
The objective of this course is to understand the goals, content, and methods of science education, and to deepen the understanding of science education in actual school settings while acquiring practical teaching skills through the creation of ICT-based teaching materials and visits/practical training at external educational institutions.
Goals and objectives
  1. Understand and explain the goals, subject organization and enrollment, course content, evaluation criteria, and current issues/challenges in junior and senior high school science.
  2. Create video teaching materials for observations and experiments in junior and senior high school science fields using ICT.
  3. Explain the precautions required for the management of chemicals, teaching materials, and equipment, as well as laboratory management and safety assurance used in observations and experiments.
  4. Conduct demonstration experiments using the created video teaching materials for observations and experiments.
