Purpose of class
By familiarising oneself with the numerous laboratories within the Faculty of Engineering, this video assists in selecting a sub-course with an eye towards interdisciplinary study. Furthermore, when students embark on their own research and encounter obstacles or problems, it encourages the realisation that solutions may lie within the laboratories featured here.
Additionally, for interested students, this video serves as a useful resource for selecting laboratories for the first and second years of the university's research exchange programme.
Course description
Students view (explore) video content independently provided by individual laboratories within the Faculty of Engineering to deepen their understanding of each laboratory's research activities and its engagement with society. From a total of over 150 laboratories, students select and view ten laboratories outside their own course, exploring the potential for interdisciplinary collaboration. This subject is a recognised subject (N).
Goals and objectives
  1. You can learn about the various research laboratories within the Faculty of Engineering.
  2. You can learn what kind of research other laboratories outside your own course are conducting.
  3. You can develop a broad perspective with an eye towards cross-disciplinary approaches.
