Purpose of class
The objective is to acquire the ability to carry out projects in a global environment by responding to issues related to environmental science, materials engineering, applied chemistry, and bioengineering in groups, communicating and conveying one’s own opinions and ideas to others, leading to solutions to issues through discussion and debate while respecting the opinions of others, and actively exercising leadership in consolidating and integrating opinions.
Course description
In this course, students will acquire practical problem-solving skills related to the development of science and technology by understanding social trends and the needs of society from a global perspective in the fields of materials science and applied chemistry. In cooperation with universities and companies in Japan and abroad, students are expected to improve their global communication skills, including group work, teamwork, and collaborative attitude, through understanding problems, finding issues, studying and proposing solutions, and exchanging opinions, while interacting and cooperating with university students and company employees. Students will be dispatched to universities and companies outside of Japan, and will be accepted by overseas university students to cultivate a global cultural, background, and geopolitical perspective that is not limited to the domestic market, and to develop practical skills of a global standard.
Goals and objectives
  1. Summarize one’s own thoughts and logically transmit information in a global environment.
  2. In a global environment, accurately understand information transmitted by others and accept it as organized content.
  3. Demonstrate leadership and solve problems and issues with a global perspective.
