Purpose of class
In the first half of this course, which serves as a continuation of Civil Engineering Planning 1, students will delve into regression analysis as a method for objectively analyzing issues.
In the second half of the course, students will learn the concepts and measurement methods related to project evaluation, which provides a comprehensive assessment of the impacts of various projects.
Course description
By the end of this course, students will be able to:

Part I: Regression Analysis and Maximum Likelihood Estimation
1.Apply regression analysis using the least squares method to estimate parameters objectively.
2.Enhance the accuracy of multiple regression models.
3.Understand the concept and application of maximum likelihood estimation for analyzing complex phenomena.
Part II: Cost-Benefit Analysis for Project Feasibility
4.Comprehend the role of cost-benefit analysis in ensuring transparency and efficiency in public investments.
5.Learn how to measure benefits and costs, especially those that can be evaluated in monetary terms.
6.Grasp the fundamental concepts and calculation methods of cost-benefit analysis.
7.Evaluate the feasibility of projects using cost-benefit analysis as an objective tool.
8.Gain insight into project evaluation, encompassing various project effects.
Goals and objectives
  1. Students can understand regression analysis techniques, which are frequently used in civil engineering planning data analysis.
  2. Students can understand the some methods for calculating benefits of project evaluation and carrying out a cost-benefit analysis.
  3. Students can understand the need for objective analysis in the implementation of infrastructure planning.
