Purpose of class
Gain an understanding of the increasing maintenance requirements and deepen interest in the construction industry.
Course description
Having outlined the essence and history of public works alongside construction management, this section provides an overview of maintenance and management techniques for social capital stock—which is expected to expand further—using concrete structures as an example. It aims to foster understanding of maintenance and management, where demand is anticipated to increase as society progresses.
We will invite contributions from those actively working at the forefront of society to provide insights and touch upon actual maintenance and management practices.
Participants will listen to their peers' opinions and discuss the future vision for the construction industry.
Goals and objectives
  1. You can understand and analyse the nature and history of public works.
  2. You can understand the social situation in Japan and be able to consider how to approach one's work.
  3. You can envision my own perspective on the future of the construction industry. I can also form an image of my future employment prospects.
  4. You can acquire the ability to understand and apply maintenance management techniques.
  5. You can understand diagnostics through non-destructive testing.
