Purpose of class
Students have to understand for foundations of chemistry and the way of combining chemistry to create novel chemistry as an application.
Course description
Toward IGP and foreign students who are interested in studying Chemistry, fourteen professors who belong to the Department of Applied Chemistry will give a talk about their fields including their own research projects. The talks include the broad area of chemistry, including Analytical, Biological, Organic, Inorganic, Physical Chemistry, and Chemical Engineering. Students will understand how broad area chemistry covers and how can we combine that chemistry to create novel chemistry for the application to the industry, medicine, foods, energy, etc.
Goals and objectives
  1. The student can explain foundations of chemistry and application of chemistry.
  2. The student can explain social problems resolved by chemistry
  3. The students can discuss the way to combine several fields of chemistry
  4. The student can explain how to create novel chemistry as an application.
