This course is designed to give students the opportunity to study presentation strategies and skills and apply them to create,
organize, and practice major types of presentations they will need in their research careers.
This is a practical course designed to develop students’ ability to communicate ideas clearly, persuasively, and professionally
in academic and real-world contexts. Through a progression of collaborative and individual presentations in different styles,
students will learn to analyze audiences, organize arguments logically, use evidence effectively, design clear visuals, and
respond confidently to questions. The course emphasizes active participation, structured peer evaluation, and critical listening,
enabling students to strengthen both their presentation skills and their ability to evaluate and improve professional communication.
Students will prepare and deliver presentations on topics of their choice across several formats. The course follows a flipped-classroom
approach: students review materials and practice key concepts before class, while class time is dedicated to presentations,
structured feedback, discussion, and skill development activities. Active participation and constructive peer feedback are
essential components of the course.
- Students can organize presentation contents appropriately for different audiences and purposes.
- Students can support their points with logical evidence, clear visual aids, and convincing examples.
- Students can demonstrate effective delivery techniques, including eye contact, gestures, posture, clear enunciation, and vocal
emphasis.
- Students can present academic research results using a standard academic presentation format
