Purpose of class
The purposes of this course are to understand what kind of research the laboratory is conducting, and to acquire how to do research through discussions in the laboratory meeting.
Course description
Students will participate in a small group meeting (seminar) organized by the supervisor, listening to the talks on cutting edge technologies given by the supervisor and senior students in the laboratory and trying to understand the content of the presentation. During the meeting, students will take notes and summarize what they cannot understand, which can be used to clarify the ambiguous matters. Also, students will consult reference papers and books in a self-directed manner and try to understand the importance of research activities in the laboratory. Through these activities, students will nurture the competency of self-directed learning. Discussions in the laboratory meeting will also lead to the fostering of communication skills and the creative mindset needed for the advanced researches.
Goals and objectives
