Purpose of class
Create concepts for new systems and services that address the needs of businesses and local communities. After finding and solving problems and formulating plans, present to the client. Through Industry-Community-University-Finance collaborative project activities, students will gain comprehensive problem-solving skills through hands-on experience.
Course description
Students perform real-world challenges provided by industry, local communites, and financial institutions through PBL. Students apply the concepts and techniques learned in systems engineering education—such as "systems thinking," "systems methodology," and "system management" learned in systems engineering education to solve these challenges. Through this exercise, students gain hands-on experience and develop comprehensive problem-solving skills. While the operation of the project is entrusted to the students, biweekly design reviews with all faculty members ensure the project's validity. Students collaborate as members of this project team to materialize a system plan for solving the challenge and present it to the challenge provider.
Goals and objectives
  1. Can collaborate with others to generate ideas and translate them into action
  2. Can understand the challenges of project activities through collaboration with others
  3. Can prepare materials and deliver presentations for design reviews
  4. Can an ability to create system proposals for reporting to clients
