Purpose of class
To acquire the basic English skills necessary for presentation and paper writing in academic fields including science and technology.
Course description
You will acquire the basic English skills necessary for presentation and paper writing in academic fields including science and technology. You will understand the sequence of Introduction, Body, and Conclusion in oral presentation and acquire the English phrases and vocabulary used in each part. For this sake, you will handle various methods for presenting various topics in science and technology. You will make mock presentation and acquire the skills to use them through the drill.You will understand the methods of ”presenting purpose and methods,” ”constructing logical story,” and ”connecting topics.”

  1. You can make brief English oral presentation on the topics of science and technology.
  2. You can write a brief English paragraph on the topics of science and technology.
  3. You will understand the development of the stories in the oral presentation and paper in academic fields including science and technology.
  4. I can do pair work or group work with various students.
